Construction workers pouring concrete on a slab at a construction site. - Senytec

17 STORY BUILDING – 420,000 sq.ft.

The contractor experienced a three-week project delay due to low cylinder break results from third-party testing labs. Our real-time monitoring, revealed that the concrete consistently met the specified strength within 10 hours of pouring, contrary to the third-party lab’s findings.

CHALLENGES

The contractor was experiencing low cylinder breaks from third party testing labs. This delayed the project schedule by three weeks. We were brought into the project to track in-place temperature and compressive strength and validate performance of their concrete in real-time.

SOLUTIONS

We deployed 10 sensors per floor and began tracking the concrete’s performance in real time. The contractor realized the concrete was reaching the specified strength within 10 hours after pouring vs. the third party testing lab data indicating that the concrete was not reaching specified strength.

KEY METRICS

By expediting the project timeline, the contractor managed to decrease on-site labor and machinery expenses while successfully returning the project to its original schedule

BENEFITS

Accelerated Project Schedule
Operational Efficiencies
